Cypress Lodge (Main Lodge)

Cypress Lodge is the original old limestone ranch house built on the property in 1950. It was remodeled in 1986 and was the first accommodation available to guests when the ranch opened in 1990. Perched on a bluff overlooking Joseph’s lake on the Joshua Creek, Cypress Lodge holds a commanding view of the ranch’s various terrain including fields, oak-studded pastures, and the beautiful cypress-lined Joshua Creek. The spacious great room features several seating areas focused on the giant fireplace or big screen TV. Guests are enchanted by the thick limestone rock walls hung with exotic hunting trophies from around the world. Just two steps down from the great room, and you’re in the Cypress Lodge dining room where all ranch guests’ meals are served... unless the traditionally mild weather of the Texas Hill Country entices guests to dine on the oak-canopied flagstone patio right outside. A charming evening atmosphere in the dining room is set by the wood-burning fireplace, the old antique bar and antler chandeliers.  It's a perfect setting for the gourmet game dinners served during the 6-month hunting season.

Cypress Lodge features two spacious bedrooms --The Safari Suite and The Gun Dog Bunk Room -- they flank each end of the Great Room. Each of these rooms is beautifully appointed and each has a multi-facility bathroom on suite. The Safari Suite has two queen beds; the Gundog Bunk Room sleeps up to nine guests in single beds.
